The ranch provides Texas hunting at its best and includes hunting for wild hogs, rams and goats, axis deer, blackbuck antelope, fallow deer, sika deer, aoudads, whitetail deer, and turkey. The hunting operation includes a recently renovated 30x 60 two story bunkhouse with kitchen facilities, living and dining area, storage area, washer and dryer, 7-bedrooms, 3-baths and bunk capacity for 15 people which provides lodging for hunting clients and guests. Water: The property sits above the Edwards-Trinity Aquifer. There are two ~900 water wells on the ranch. Each well penetrates the Edwards-Trinity aquifer. The well near the main house is equipped with a submersible pump and supplies water for the house, bunkhouse and northern areas of the ranch. The 2nd well is equipped with a windmill and provides water to the southern part of the ranch. Both wells are currently artesian and will flow naturally without pumping. Mud Creek, also referred to as Crystal Creek because of the water clarity, traverses the ranch on the north side and a dam creates a scenic 10-acre lake. Little Perdido Creek crosses the ranch on the south side.
Wildlife: The high fenced and well managed ranch habitat supports most of the native Texas wildlife common to the area, whitetail deer, wild turkeys, feral hogs, coyotes, foxes, raccoons, bobcats, mountain lions, mourning and white wing doves and many other native small animals and birds are present on the ranch. Exotic wildlife includes rams and goats, axis deer, blackbuck antelope, fallow deer, sika deer and aoudads. The exotics represent a significant investment and includes one of the best axis herds in South Texas, as per the on-site biologist/hunting guide.
Grasses and Trees: Native grasses, brush and trees have flourished with habitat management focused on improving the hunting experience. The predominant hardwoods on the ranch are live oak, pecan, mesquite and huisache. Cenizo sage, agarita, persimmon and many other brushy varieties thrive on the ranch and provide cover for wildlife. Along Mud Creek on the north side of the ranch you will find huge spectacular pecan and live oak trees shading the area and creating a park like area.
